Looking for subcontractors who are able to do general transcription work. The audio recordings will be either one-on-one interviews, dialogue between 2-4 people or monologues, so you must be comfortable doing a range of different formats. You must be able to type 70-80+ wpm. You are dedicated, hard working and dependable. This is a telecommuting position, where you work from your own home office. There are specific skills and equipment that you must possess. Besides the ability to type over 70 wpm and having strong grammar and spelling skills, you should have a high speed internet connection and be proficient with FTP software (this is standalone software that is used to download audio files). All work should be done in Microsoft Word, using a specific format that I will supply. You must also possess the appropriate digital transcription software (ExpressScribe) and a foot pedal attached to your computer to transcribe the audio files. This is a subcontracting position that pays $.667 per audio minute, which works out to $20/30 minutes of audio. The turnaround time for an audio file will be 24-48 hours. If interested, please contact me and in your email, please let me know how long it roughly takes for you to type 30 minutes of audio and what your availability is (what days of the week/times).
