The transcriptionist must be able to take depositions and travel to Frederick, MD Washington, DC, Baltimore, Aberdeen, MD, Townson, MD and other areas throughout the Metropolitan area. The Court reporter/ Transcriptionist makes word-for-word reports of court cases, meetings, speeches, and other events. Court reporters play a critical role in legal proceedings. Their written accounts of spoken words are made into official records. They are expected to create a complete and accurate legal record. Accuracy is crucial. Texts of spoken words may also be needed for letters, records, and proof in court. Legal appeals can depend on the court reporter's transcript. Many court reporters organize official records. They may also search them for specific information. The court reporters should have the ability to provide closed-captioning and translating services for deaf and hard-of-hearing persons. |

You must be an experienced legal transcriptionist familiar with common hearing format and adept at verbatim multi-voice transcription. Need to transcribe minimum 120 minutes of audio in seven calendar days. Must be expert in use of proper punctuation, including the double dash. High speed internet access, USB foot pedal, stereo headphones and a good ear are essential. Format is 27 double spaced lines per page and pay is $1.25/page. Again, experienced legal transcriptionists only need apply. If you are unfamiliar with verbatim multi-voice audio and don't know what a double dash is used for, then please don't respond to this ad.
