A legal transcription firm located in Medford MA is seeking to hire an experienced court transcriptionist to join the team. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who is a court reporter (current or retired), or a paralegal who has done court CDs transcription, or someone who worked for a court reporter and/or transcription company. We need a transcriber who is equipped to transcribe court CDs with a Start-Stop type pedal, must have a court software like JAVS, ForTheRecord, CourtSmart, ExpressScribe and must also have the willingness to pick up and deliver work weekly to our Medford office. Familiarity with the Mass and Uniform transcript format dated June 2008 is an advantage. Since you will be working on Mass and Trial Court legal cases, you must have or be willing to invest in Indexing software. Candidate must be a fast and accurate typist, with excellent knowledge of sentence structure and legal terms, be detail-oriented and knows how to do internet research. It is also important that you double check or proofread your work before submission. This position offers a part time and work from home opportunity. Work load will vary from time to time.
