Duties:
Provide management and technical assistance for development of an integrated data management and response system to ensure optimal use of indoor residual spray (IRS) campaigns, including the use of spatial data, pre- and post-spray entomology as well as routine entomological data. Provide technical assistance to assure evidence-based targeting and analysis with respect to selection of malaria interventions. Provide technical assistance to establish and test an operational malaria case surveillance and response system.
Qualifications:
An advanced degree in entomology, and/or epidemiology with previous experience in health management information systems and/or monitoring and evaluation. A clinical background would also be sufficient. The successful candidate will present evidence of strong research skills, knowledge of entomological indicators as related to malaria, and international operational experience in the realm of monitoring and evaluation of malaria prevention and control programs. Successful project management history is beneficial. Must be equally suited to receiving directives as giving them. Applicants must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, personal presentation and organizational skills. Experience with the development and use of health information management systems in diverse international settings as well as geographic information systems is beneficial. The position may require short or long term international relocation. Previous work in resource-poor settings is required.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience. Employment will vary with project requirements.
