Job duties:
- Produce medical reports, correspondence, records, patient-care information, statistics, medical research, and administrative material.
- Return dictated reports in printed or electronic form for physicians' review, signature, and corrections, and for inclusion in patients' medical records.
- Review and edit transcribed reports or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology.
- Transcribe dictation for a variety of medical reports such as patient histories, physical examinations, emergency room visits, operations, chart reviews, consultation, and/or discharge summaries.
- Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient and health care facility records.
Working hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Qualifications for this position:
- 3-5 years of medical transcription experience - Strong medical terminology in different aspects of medicine - Data entry of 7,000 ksph with 95% accuracy - Typing 55 wpm with 95% accuracy - Must be very detailed oriented - Desires a self starter and able to work independently -Must work from company site (not home) |

Transcribes dictated reports for all imaging modalities in the Radiology Department. Transcribes accurately and promptly dictated reports for all imaging modalities. Ensures proper identification of patient and exam and that patient's are billed properly and Radiology system is correct. Maintains proper levels of supply inventories in order to complete assigned responsibilities. Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor or Radiologist to ensure the timely delivery of diagnostic results to our patient and physician community. |

The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible to the hospital, patient and Medical Staff to provide accurate and timely transcription of highly technical dictation by physicians and other health care professionals regarding patient assessment, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services. The Medical Transcriptionist must possess a vast knowledge of medical terminology , anatomy and physiology, pharmaceutical, as well as excellent English grammar, spelling, editing and medical report composition and formatting and must have the ability to understand diverse accents, dialects and dictation styles needed to correctly search out new terms and to recognize and interpret various accents and voices. The transcriptionist, at some point in time, may have to assist in the orientation and training of new employees and/or students, as well as attend seminars/educational programs, etc. required to upgrade their skills. The transcriptionist must be able to maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers, patients and Medical Staff. The person must understand and comply with the need for strict confidentiality. |
