Requirements: Under the direction of the Radiology Transcription Quality Assurance Coordinator, in conjunction with the Radiology Manager, and within established hospital policies and procedures, transcribes radiologic interpretations from dictating units, as dictated by Radiologist. Interacts primarily with adults on an inter-disciplinary level and internal to the department; must be able to effectively interact appropriate to individual's intellectual level and physical ability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year college or specialized post-high school training as a medical/radiology transcriptionist preferred. Certified medical transcriptionist ("CMT") preferred. A thorough working knowledge of medical terminology as related to Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CAT scan, MRI, Special Procedures, & Vascular.) is preferred. Demonstrated excellent written communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation and style required. Demonstrated ability to understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles necessary. Demonstrated ability to use designated reference materials and designated word processing. Proficient with computer/digital dictation/transcription equipment and software applications required. Type a minimum typing speed of 80 words/min.
This transcriber position can be based at CDH or at home, with CDH coverage flexibility needed. Candidate must be flexible with coverage.
